3。75 stars。 Sweet story about friendship and kindness。

I really wanted to like this book however why do they have to use words like idiot and talk about rabbit hating being a rabbit? I drives me crazy when I have to change a word when I'm reading aloud to my child。 All the other silliness is fun I wish editor's and children's authors thought about their word choices a little more。 I really wanted to like this book however why do they have to use words like idiot and talk about rabbit hating being a rabbit? A lovely short tale of friendship with some little facts thrown in on the side。 Great to share with young children。

I’ve picked up these books for one of my class who is ready for longer books but struggles if the text is too small and there are no pictures。 This was a fun story with accessible language and a nice message。 Good for children starting to read independently。

This series of books is fab。 My 6 year old daughter loves them。 Quite simple and easy to read so she reads them in one sitting but she likes to re read them。

I read this in one sitting to my boys。 It was a good read for all of us。

Jess

Heavily illustrated, short enough to read the whole thing aloud in one long sitting, and surprisingly funny!

A great, engaging and laugh out loud story which is perfect for developing readers but also a wonderful read aloud! I loved this book right from the start and could not put it down。 I enjoyed the friendship we see develop between rabbit and bear, and although it's possibly a predictable story for experienced readers, it is a lovely story none the less。 This book would also be wonderful for dyslexic readers as the text is clear and not too complex, whilst feeling like you are reading an actual bo A great, engaging and laugh out loud story which is perfect for developing readers but also a wonderful read aloud! Rabbit and Bear are good friends and together they go on an adventure in the snow。 This will engage reluctant readers because the silly stories are easy to read and sure to make children laugh。

Bear woke up early when someone stole her food。 She exits her cave to find snow。 She begins to build a snowman, and Rabbit has lots to tell her about winter, location, and gravity。 But Bear is a good friend, and Rabbit learns that is important too。Why I started this book: Attack of the Snack had me rolling with laughter, so I ordered the rest of the series and eagerly awaited their arrival。Why I finished it: This was cute, and also a little disgusting which is perfect for the elementary age mind Bear woke up early when someone stole her food。 She exits her cave to find snow。 She begins to build a snowman, and Rabbit has lots to tell her about winter, location, and gravity。 But Bear is a good friend, and Rabbit learns that is important too。Why I started this book: Attack of the Snack had me rolling with laughter, so I ordered the rest of the series and eagerly awaited their arrival。Why I finished it: This was cute, and also a little disgusting which is perfect for the elementary age mindset and interests。 Fun to have Bear so curious about winter and snow when she woke up early。 。。。more

Cute beginning chapter book, possible Book Explorers pick。 Animals, kindness, friendship and a bit of potty humor。 Will be a hit with kids。

This would make a great read-aloud for grades 2 or 3 (others as well, but those feel perfect)。 An unlikely friendship forms when a grumpy rabbit awakens a hibernating bear by stealing his food。 The bear takes advantage of being awake during winter to make a snowman。 The rabbit's bad habit is eating his own poop, which will be hilarious to kids even if it is very gross! I did some research (made me think this would be the first thing I would do with the kids) on why rabbits actually do that, and This would make a great read-aloud for grades 2 or 3 (others as well, but those feel perfect)。 An unlikely friendship forms when a grumpy rabbit awakens a hibernating bear by stealing his food。 The bear takes advantage of being awake during winter to make a snowman。 The rabbit's bad habit is eating his own poop, which will be hilarious to kids even if it is very gross! A cute little story with a bit of education, a dose of danger, and some musings on fairness, honesty, cooperation, and friendship。 I wouldn't call this story "laugh-out-loud" funny, as Neil Gaiman promises on the cover, but it had its amusing moments。 I spent many years volunteering in rabbit rescue, and never thought I'd come across a children's book that mentions the cecal-eating habits of rabbits, so that was a fun surprise。 Of course rabbits don't find this gross at all。。。 quite the opposite A cute little story with a bit of education, a dose of danger, and some musings on fairness, honesty, cooperation, and friendship。 I wouldn't call this story "laugh-out-loud" funny, as Neil Gaiman promises on the cover, but it had its amusing moments。 I spent many years volunteering in rabbit rescue, and never thought I'd come across a children's book that mentions the cecal-eating habits of rabbits, so that was a fun surprise。 Of course rabbits don't find this gross at all。。。 quite the opposite, they consider their "poo" a tasty treat, and would choose it over frozen salmon and beetles' eggs any day。 Of course this is children's fiction, but if you're going to the trouble of explaining cecotrophy, why not also make it berries instead of salmon? The illustrations are fun and fabulous。 Illustrator Jim Field has a great feel for mood, detail, and composition; and his drawings capture the story perfectly。 I'm not quite sure why this wasn't 4 or 5 stars for me。 I'm always a bit unhappy with books that portray prey animals as the good guy, and predators as the baddie。 It's not a wolf's fault that he isn't an herbivore。 Overall I think the story was a little too predictable for me。 I would say that I enjoyed the telling more than the content。 。。。more

libby/overdrivelooks cute, plus fits July's "chill" challenge in BookCrosser's group。。。Formatting is frustrating。 The illustrations are like those in a picturebook, but I cannot view a 2 page 'spread' of them, and see the whole scene at once。Very short, an average of a sentence per page。 Has a clear theme, though, about friendship。。。 an aspect of it that I have not seen before, in the thousands of children's books that I've read。 I'm recommending it if it intrigues you。。。 but I don't know how to libby/overdrivelooks cute, plus fits July's "chill" challenge in BookCrosser's group。。。Formatting is frustrating。 The illustrations are like those in a picturebook, but I cannot view a 2 page 'spread' of them, and see the whole scene at once。Very short, an average of a sentence per page。 Has a clear theme, though, about friendship。。。 an aspect of it that I have not seen before, in the thousands of children's books that I've read。 I'm recommending it if it intrigues you。。。 but I don't know how to rate it, and I don't know if I want to read the sequels or not。 。。。more

A read packed with things young children will love - snowmen, a friendly bear, a know-it-all rabbit, a rather angry wolf and poo。 Rabbit & Bear is a laugh-out-loud tale full of warmth and heart with valuable lessons on friendship, kindness and sharing embedded within this delightful story。When Bear is rudely woken up from his hibernation by a thief stealing his food he is surprised to find that it is snowing outside。 Rather than see the negatives of the situation, ever positive bear takes the op A read packed with things young children will love - snowmen, a friendly bear, a know-it-all rabbit, a rather angry wolf and poo。 Rabbit & Bear is a laugh-out-loud tale full of warmth and heart with valuable lessons on friendship, kindness and sharing embedded within this delightful story。When Bear is rudely woken up from his hibernation by a thief stealing his food he is surprised to find that it is snowing outside。 Rather than see the negatives of the situation, ever positive bear takes the opportunity to build a snowman for the first time。 Grumpy, poo-eating Rabbit wants to build a snowman too and he knows that it has to be better than Bear’s。 Rabbit is a bit of a know-it-all and is all too quick to point out the flaws of others thinking that he knows best。 But when hungry Wolf comes along and quite fancies rabbit-pie for dinner, Rabbit learns that having a friend might be much better than being alone。Amongst all the laughs and poo, there are some really interesting science lessons on gravity, avalanches, habitats and the intricacies of rabbit digestion that are perfectly woven into the narrative - there is so much to get out of this book。Rabbit & Bear is beautifully presented with illustrations from Jim Field that perfectly capture the different personalities and emotions of Bear, Rabbit and Wolf。 There’s also the added bonus of a map at the front (I love a book with a map) - I quite fancy a visit to the Giant Sandpit or The Bog of Frogs。 The read is easily accessible to younger readers as each page has illustrations accompanied by a small amount of text。An ideal read for emerging readers, especially those transitioning from picture books to chapter books。 The story is easy to follow and features a setting and characters that are familiar。 Great for reading aloud to children of 5+ and for young confident readers to read independently。Recommended for 5+。 。。。more

This would be fun to read aloud to youngsters。。。 1。 Because they will howl。 2。 It deals with honesty 3。 There might be math

According to Booktopia this is a story for 5 to 7 year olds, but there are so many lovely illustrations by Jim Field that I was able to read it to my 2 year old grandchild and keep her attention。 It might have helped that she owns 2 rabbits and is very familiar with their bad habits!

A story of friendship, where rabbit learns to be nicer。 And wolf goes hungry, which I found sad。 There's a lot about how rabbits eat their poo, which would have been funnier if I hadn't known that already, so me and my kids mined that humor back when they were preschoolers。 A story of friendship, where rabbit learns to be nicer。 And wolf goes hungry, which I found sad。 There's a lot about how rabbits eat their poo, which would have been funnier if I hadn't known that already, so me and my kids mined that humor back when they were preschoolers。 。。。more
